Dis-Assembly Tips
Problem
Accessing the Motherboard for troubleshooting purposes
Solution
Roll the machine on to it's back and use a #1 Phillips Screwdriver (+) to remove the approx. 8 screws that are exposed. The bottom of the machine should come off easily at this point and by carefully tugging the wires that connect the upper and lower sections it should be possible to keep the main unit on it's back and review the exposed motherboard.
Problem
Removing the Side covers should be avoided if possible, it is difficult to not scratch them in the process.
Solution
If you must remove the Side covers consider using a putty knife or similar to carefully pry the trim piece off. Once it's removed there are 5 to 6 screws that will remove the cover itself.
Note: The trim pieces are not required for the Cricut to function, so you can choose if they are re-installed or disposed of.
